In January 2007 I moved to a Full Professor position at the Faculty of Informatics of the University of Lugano in Switzerland, where I am also the Director of the Graduate School. However, I still hold a part-time position in this department and I am here quite frequently. See my Swiss page for more information.

I have been full-time at the Department of Computer and Information Sciences of the University of Strathclyde from March 2000 to December 2006. Before that I held research fellowship positions at the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory of the CLRC (UK), the International Computer Science Institute in Berkeley (USA), and the University of Glasgow (UK).  From 1992 to 1997, I was Assistant Professor at the University of Padova (Italy).

I work in the areas of information retrieval, text mining, hypermedia, and digital libraries. See my publication page for a list of the most relevant publications.

I am lucky to teach topics related to my research interests. See my teaching page for more information

I have collaborated with a number of National and International research projects. My research page has a list of the most recent projects I am involved, with links for more information.

This set of pages was last updated in February 2007 and will soon become old. See my page at the University of Lugano for more up to date information.
