RESEARCH STUDENTS' HOME > PHD PROCESS

Milestones

At various stages in your PhD we will ask you to complete progress reports. These are important for you to make sure you are on track with your studies and important for the department to make sure that you are making sufficient progress. All progress reports will be completed in discussion with your supervisor. Some of these reports are returned to the University.

There are two types of progress report

INTERIM REPORTS For students in their first year of study, these reports are completed at the end of the 3rd, 6th and 9th month of study. For students in their second or third year of study these are completed at the end of their 6th month of study. This report is completed by the student, a progress form is completed by the supervisor and retained by the department. The only exception is if there is a problem with the student's progress in which case the form is passed to the University

ANNUAL PROGRESS REPORTS This report is completed by an examination committee after the annual progress review. You should have an annual progress report at the end of first and second year. This report is returned to the University
