Naloxone distribution in Scotland 2011-2021

Naloxone is an emergency treatment for opioid overdose. It is distributed to people at risk of overdose and those likely to witness an overdose.

This animation at right is based on Public Health Scotland data. It shows per capita quarterly Naloxone distribution in Scotland by NHS health board from 2011 through the third quarter of 2021. Colour intensity is normalised to the maximum per capita distribution event (2020 Q2 in Fife where enough doses for about 1 in 250 people were distributed).
